Nina Brierley BSc Hons RD DipADP PG Cert ASN

Nina Brierley qualified as a dietitian in 1997. Her career in paediatrics started at Royal Brompton Hospital where she secured funding for a paediatric dietitian post in paediatric cardiac intensive care. She has also been involved in research; particularly neurology at Institute of Brain Chemistry and Human Nutrition under the guidance of Professor Michael Crawford.

More recently she was funded by The Daisy Garland Charity in 2017 to set up a ketogenic diet therapy for epilepsy service at Royal Berkshire Hospital, one of the first district general hospitals in the UK to provide this service. She is proud to say after submitting a business case this is now an NHS funded post.

In 2019 Nina moved to The Portland Hospital where she helped establish the ketogenic diet therapy service and where she continues as clinical lead dietitian.

Nina has been involved with Ketogenic Dietitian Research Network (KDRN) in recent audits and is part of an international working group developing guidelines for the use of Ketogenic diet therapy on Paediatric Intensive Care.
