Personal statement
Neuro Voyager is something I have wanted to develop for some time to help parents and patients on their neurological journey and try and simplify what can be a confusing, difficult and scary process.
Within the site we have tried to explain some of the processes, what different investigations and tests involve and how we communicate results and next steps to you. The site will evolve, and we welcome any feedback you give us as it is this which helps us to refine processes and try to make your neurological experience as positive and seamless as possible.
Dependent on your child’s symptoms and previous medical history, the neurological journey can be a short or long one and our aim is that we can travel together along this path in a clear and logical way. However, it is likely that your child will need to have tests and investigations to help reach a diagnosis. We work with many partners who have enormous expertise in their specific fields.
“Good communication skills are not only a fundamental part of the neurology journey for families, but also are important for critical thinking in arriving at a clinical diagnosis and beyond.
Specialist Multidisciplinary input (MDT) is needed but children often do not meet criteria for referral in such services in their local health programme. We are fully aware of that and utilise multiple approaches including holistic and MDT to provide treatment”
