Dr Maria Kinali MBBS MD (UK) FRCPCH FAAN

Dr Maria Kinali is a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College, London, and the founder of The Neuro Voyager.

She began The Neuro Voyager mission to improve the clinical journey of children suffering from neurological problems, as she firmly believes that any neurology diagnosis poses significant challenges, uncertainties and difficulties for the child and families involved. These can be ameliorated through a unified approach to care with the right specialists under one roof. Her unique concept is therefore fully tailored to suit your individual needs, helping families and children navigate to an improved state of health as soon as possible.

Dr Kinali’s expert private practice began at the Cromwell Hospital in September 2009, and extended to The Portland Hospital in February 2012, and she became Lead Consultant Neurologist at The Portland Hospital in March 2019, a position she has held since.

She has a diverse expertise set including epilepsy, complex movement disorders, developmental delay and autism, headaches and dizziness, neuromuscular disorders, as well as sports related injuries.

She gained her degree in Medicine at the University of Patras (Greece) then trained in Paediatrics and Academic Neurology at Imperial College, and University College Hospital in London (UK) where she developed her interest in neuromuscular medicine. She was awarded her MD Thesis by the University of London in July 2007 and led on a gene therapy trial. She has published extensively in peer reviewed journals.

Having qualified as a Paediatrician and Neurologist in London, she facilitated the setting up of a robust Paediatric Neurology Service at Chelsea Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (CWHFT) and the Royal Brompton Hospital, at the Consultant grade for nearly 9 years until January 2018.
