Dr Audrienne Sammut MD (Malta) FRCPCH (UK) AFHEA
Dr Audrienne Sammut is a consultant in neonatal medicine and practices at the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing at University College London Hospital (UCLH) and at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). She is the lead for the neurodevelopmental service for high-risk babies and complex neurological cases at UCLH.
She earned her MD, Doctor of Medicine and Surgery, from the University of Malta and pursued her training in neonatology at Cambridge University Hospitals. Subsequently, she underwent a fellowship in neonatal medicine at the Evelina Children’s Hospital before assuming her role as a neonatal consultant at UCLH in 2020.
Dr Sammut serves as the preterm care lead at UCLH, focusing on enhancing care and outcomes for premature infants. Furthermore, she is actively involved in professional organisations, serving as the co-lead of the clinical service provision stream at the British Association for Neonatal Neurodevelopmental Follow Up (BANNFU) group and as a professional member of the EiSMART charity. In these roles, she contributes to the development of national surveys and standards across various disciplines, including education, social, and health departments.
Dr Sammut is a fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and holds an Associate Fellowship with the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).
