Imaging tests such as; MRIs (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), CT scans, PET (Positron Emission Topography) scans and Ultrasounds are some of the most common investigations as they give different types of pictures of the inside of our bodies.
CT
CT (CAT) scans use x-ray and computer technology so give a more detailed view.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound uses high frequency sound waves to create an image of part of the inside of your body such as muscles or tendons, and is often used in pregnancy.
MRI
For Neurology, an MRI is one of the most frequently requested imaging tests as this type of scan produces very detailed images of the brain or other organs, tissue and bone and helps to detect any structural abnormalities.

PET
Occasionally, a PET scan is requested as this scan produces a three-dimensional picture.
